B4MMA Update – Wall of Champions, Coach Profiles & Why I’ve Been Off Training

Alright guys, just a few updates from me.

First off, I’ve updated the Wall of Champions on the site and added athlete profiles for Coach Paddy and Coach Harry. I’ll drop the links to their profiles below. That section of the site is dedicated to athletes who achieve championship status while training at the club and I’m hoping to add more names to it this year. The road to becoming a champ is tough, no doubt about it, but it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do.

Why I’ve Been Off Training

So yeah… I’ve been off training this past week, and I’ve genuinely missed every single one of you. Being away from the gym just reminded me how much I appreciate being around everyone. We’ve built something special with this club—seriously, we’re lucky to have so many solid people. Thank fuck for that.

Anyway, here’s what happened.

About 7 weeks ago, I got poked in the eye during training. It gave me a cut across my eyeball. I thought I could just tough it out and let it heal naturally. Bad idea. It messed with my sleep—waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning most nights, eye streaming, nose running, and just horrible pain.

I kept pushing through until it got really bad. I lost the ability to open the eye completely and was basically blind for a couple of days. Honestly, it was wild. Apart from the 10-hour wait in A&E (standard), the NHS did a solid job, and I’m finally on the mend now. I’ve got a bandage contact lens in, and I’ll be back to training on Monday the 12th.

This whole experience reminded me how grateful I am just to be able to see. The world is actually beautiful when you stop and take it in. Being able to see it, it’s a blessing. One I’ll never take for granted again.

Merch Update

Quick one—I'll be sorting out all the merch orders this week. Heads up though: most of the large sizes are nearly sold out. Should’ve ordered more Ls! Lesson learned for next time.
